Shopping @ Target

I have been a fan of Target for many years because they are continually improving, commissioning designer lines and offering a diverse selection of good products at a fair price. Just last week I picked up this denim jumper (in the kids sections) for under 20 bucks! I added a belt and some fun heels to give it a more grown up feel!

. . . pondering picasso

Pablo Picasso has been one of my favorite artists  ever since I was a child. I distinctively remember the first time I saw his Petite Fleurs (below) when I was 7 years old and how wildly I reacted to it! In the countless art classes I took all through high school and college he was always my greatest inspiration ~ as he seemed to be able to work in every medium while maintaining his signature style. So recently when I came across this quote by him, "Good artists copy, great artists steal" it stuck in my mind, because I guess its kind of fun to wonder exactly what he meant by this. What's your interpretation?!

Layers

This "hot pink" Jean Paul Gaultier for Target slip dress has been hanging out in my closet for a while now, but after layering on top this little black sheer lace over~dress from F21, it felt brand new!

Summer Sundress!

Yesterday was a glorious day ~ we had near 80 degree weather at the beach and sunshine! It felt like August! So this "light as a feather" off the shoulder, silk scarf dress from Zara was the perfect choice to soak up a little vitamin D!

The Bazaar

A visit to SAAM @ the Bazaar is a decadent dining experience. Chef José Andrés crafts a unique multi-course tasting menu of modern creations and traditional flavors. My favorites were the caviar cones and cotton candy martinis! 

Framed

I have always been attracted to gallery walls in homes. These artfully framed and displayed collections really transform and personalize a space!

sizzle skirt

This Poleci knit skirt has been hanging in my closet for nearly a decade. Whenever I put it on it reminds me of the day I found it and how excited I was to purchase it! It's one of those pieces you never tire of, with its unusual color combination, beaded glitz, formfitting cut and mega fringe!!! Hence the name "Sizzle Skirt"!

If I was marooned on a desert island, although it's completely impractical, I would want this outfit ~ one of my very favorite dresses and my favorite hat! Just to remind me what civilized life was like! {and so I could play the role of Ginger!}

I bought this dress a couple seasons back at Bebe and still just love the unique cut and details

The faux crock trim pairs beautifully with my garnet jewelry and maroon boho hat!

There's something about Mary

I happened upon Mary McDonald's gorgeous new book "The Allure of Style", and was just thrilled to browse through this beautiful book of classical interiors! This LA based designer definitely gets the SPECKtacular seal of approval!

Roberto Cavalli's rock star style!

I would have a seriously difficult time choosing just one of these amazing creations designed by Roberto Cavalli. For me, these are the most amazing things I've seen all year! And this fantastic photo campaign really does them justice!
