trick or treating

Halloween has always been my second favorite holiday (Christmas will always be first)!  Mainly because I love any excuse to dress up in costume! Ever since I was a kid, I have been making my own costumes. Once in a great while I'll pick-up a costume in a bag ~ but I always have to add to it, to give it some authenticity and originality! Here are a few halloween costumes from the years past, and if you come back in a couple days ~ I'll have photos of this year's surprise!

6 impossible things before breakfast

Sometimes it's good to reflect on what you learned today (or yesterday). Because with each passing day you are a little bit different. Something you experienced yesterday changed you in some way ~ big or small. Somedays I'll find I learned 10 new things before the clock has even struck 10AM! I find it's a cheap and easy way to feel better about yourself. Think back on some stupid stuff you did a few years back and revel in the fact that you're way too smart to do THAT again!

My Religion

Over the years I have had a myriad of religious beliefs on my way to discovering what I believe in my heart to be true. It has taken a lifetime of experience, schooling, reading and questioning to get to the place I am and I am quite certain my thoughts will continue to evolve as I do. But as of now, my religion is simple.

Changing Seasons

Seasons are like chapters in our lives. We look forward to celebrations that mark the changing of the seasons and prepare for the transitions in weather and lifestyle. A symbolic metaphor of our ever-changing lives. I'm ready to turn the page!

Bucket list #3

To be a BOND GIRL! Okay, I know this one is far fetched ~ but never-the-less, it's been on my list since I was a young girl ~ and the fascination has never dulled.
I grew up watching 007 and was always impressed by the fierce and exotic women that were his partners in crime or trying to outwit him at his own game. They lived a jet-set life of wining and dining and adventure at every turn! Here is my tribute to my top three favorite bond girls ~ Jill St John in Diamonds are Forever, Shirley Eaton in Goldfinger and the tops ~ Ursula Andrews in Dr. No!
Jill St John as Tiffany Case in Diamonds are Forever ~ She was a bad-ass Babe!
Shirley Eaton as Jill Masterson in Goldfinger ~ left a memorable impression!
Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder in Dr. No ~ Just love the knife in her bikini!

The only real James Bond for me ~ Sean Connery embodied the character in every way. It's as though he didn't even have to act.

killer lashes!

Excuse me, is that something in your eye? Nope I guess it's just a sparkle! xxoxx

Home alone

It's fun to have a day that you are not committed to anything at all! And, the very best part is seeing what you end up doing ~ I think it often tends to be the things you love the most ~ when you are just free to BE. This is what I did today. xoxo

Spell Bound!

Last night when I couldn't sleep, I got up and came down to my computer and before I knew it ~ I found myself gazing at these other~worldly images created by photographer Kirsty Mitchell. I am so in love with these brilliant creations. And so inspired to start getting REALLY creative with my own photography ~ I want to bring more of me and all the fantastical things that I love into my work ~ enjoy!

Someday I'll have a fabulous garden and forest in my backyard to photograph in . . . .

Just go with it . . .

Sometimes I want to control every single aspect and then I realize I am way over my head. I worked on our reality show today with my BFF"s - we butted some heads and kicked and shouted a bit, but all and all we made some headway. Below is an old photo of me when I always had my video camera in hand. Now-a-days ~ I have a bigger camera and only pull it out once in a great while!

The REAL Secret!

It seems as though everyone is looking for the magic ticket to SUCCESS.  As though you can just one day wake up and have your dreams actualized. I truly believe that in order to actualize your dreams ~ you NEED to do the work. Because the WORK is an integral part of success. It is proving to yourself (the most important person in this equation) that you are capable, you have what it takes, you persevered and fought for what you really wanted. That is 90% of the success, getting there and experiencing all the ups and downs on the journey -  and it provides you with the juicy stuff that makes for great stories later!
Thank you Ingie for taking these fun photos of me yesterday! xoxo
