Willing AND able!

In life I believe it is very important to learn how to endure rejection, ridicule and embarrassment in pursuit of your dreams. Anyone who is anyone has had their share of humiliation and awkward faux pas. So the next time you do something stupid, just remember ~ all of your heros have had their share of them too! xo

Pants free zone!!

One of the things I LOVE about being home is being able to NOT wear anything if I feel like it! Typically I spend a better part of my day at home in my white terry robe, but when I do put clothes on, it can be just about anything or nothing! For example, today was a pants free day!! Yippee!

Beauty Secrets!

Everyone has their own special recipe for beauty. I really only have a few secrets that I've been relying on for years to keep my healthy glow. Here's the breakdown:
1. Honey ~ it's the elixir of youth, it is literally a preservative and so yummy!
2. Sleep ~ 8 hours a night is my minimum (don't cheat yourself out of dreamtime!)
3. Lipstick ~ My number 1 go to beauty fix! Instant glamour in a tube!
4. Champagne ~ seriously, a glass or two melts the stress away!

A good night sleep, a healthy dose of honey in my coffee everyday, Bright lipstick and some bubbly = a happy Annie and therein lies my real secret to beauty!

and one more thing, surround yourself with beauty, I really think it rubs off! xo

An excerpt from the book of my Soul

Far away, inside of a dream, lies a beautiful castle in a remote countryside. In this magical land, time stands still and beauty reigns supreme. Marble statues come to life and ride horses in an ever~changing garden of delight. Ceilings open to the night sky, allowing the perfect view to the stars and visits from winged friends. Hours are whiled away, blowing bubbles and starring into the candlelight.

Changing spots

When I think about that old saying "a leopard can't change it's spots", I don't really believe it. A leopard can change it's spots, at least for a little while. I mean a quick dip in the mud and voila ~ instant transformation! We are all able to reshape, reform or remake ourselves, and the harder we work on it, the better we get!

La Doña

María de los Ángeles Félix Güereña, better known as María Félix the Mexican screen legend. She makes the divas of today look like amateurs.  Songs were written about her, famous artists painted her, couture houses and renown jewelers designed extravagant creations just for her.  She had a trademark style like no other ~ her long cigarettes, cowboy hats, cat eye liner and her beloved Cartier alligator jewelry. According to Cartier legend, María brought her pet crocodiles into the Cartier Boutique in Paris and requested a necklace designed to resemble them! The baby crocs sat on the jeweler’s workbench and gave inspiration to what is now famously known as the Cartier Crocodile Necklace. What a woman! I truly love this photographic tribute to La Doña by another legend ~ Mario Testino!

Cant help but love this smashing collage by Domingo Zapata (okay ~ you have to admit, just saying his name sounds so sexy!!!) It has my favorite actor ~ Sean Connery in my favorite James Bond film ~ Dr. No, and it's larger than life! Hot damn that would look rocking in my studio!!!

Couture Genius

I recently came across the amazing work of Zuhair Murad, a Lebanese fashion designer. I instantly fell in love with his gorgeous, classic, couture and ready-to-wear lines. I really don't know how he went under my radar for so long!!! Here are a few of my favorites from his knock-out-to-die-for lines over the years!!!

I seriously hope I get to wear some of his creations one day!!!!

Meet Valentina!

She was born on Valentine's Day! Her favorite color is pink. She drinks Rosé at breakfast instead of coffee. She doesn't read romance novels ~ she stars in them. Her personal florist decorates her rooms with fresh cut roses everyday. Chocolates and sweets don't make her fat ~ they just give her extra energy in the bedroom. She calls Paris her home away from home. When she's not designing her own jewelry, she's busy opening stacks of presents from her many suitors ~ mostly jewels, because for Valentina ~ everyday is Valentines day! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Be the kind of woman . . .

When I was younger (and very naive) I always tried to be the kind of girl who was nice to everyone, I really wanted to please. I tried to be courteous and politically correct, I'd bite my tongue and wait my turn. Well, the hell with that! Now I want to be the kind of Woman, who says what she thinks and never asks permission.  A force to be reckoned with, scandalous, notorious and unforgiving!
