the art of photography
Since I take so many self portraits, I am always amazed at what other photographers are able draw out of me ~ its like they show a side of me with part of them infused into it. These photos where done by the talented photographer Ingie Markovich. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of her amazing work!

No regrets!
In life there are lots of directions we can take, and only we one that we can't - that direction is backwards. We can only move in a forward direction, but remember ~ it is still a direction of our choice. So there is no sense regretting the direction you chose last year or ten years ago. Just choose a new one and keep on moving, eventually you'll get to where you want to go!

Rambling Rose
It seems like whenever you actually DO anything, create something ~ then it's up for critique. And the ones that seem to be the loudest critics are those that are not making anything themselves, instead they are just telling others that the things they are making are flawed or crap. Well, I kind of feel sorry for them, because those comments typically arise from jealousy. Not necessarily jealousy about what you created ~ but the fact that you DID create something and they DIDN'T.

De~stress
I have decided to start meditating in the morning again. It is a practice that had become a routine of mine some years ago, then I gradually got out of the habit. However, I have come back to it countless times during stressful situations in my life and it always helps me see things clearer and unburden myself of worries.

the long climb
By climbing, I am referring to endurance, struggle, hard work. If you have ever had the experience of struggling for something you really wanted ~ you know how sweet the feeling is when after all of your efforts you are rewarded with your prize. And that is what it feels like, because anything you really value comes with a cost.

invest in a solid foundation
I am so grateful my parents afforded me the luxury of going to college and then the freedom to go into the world unencumbered by student loans. It allowed me to take job opportunities that I might not have, had I been worried about loan payments on top of rent and car payments, etc. It helped me build a foundation that enabled me to withstand many storms that knocked down the walls I had built, because I still had a solid footing underneath me to stand on and rebuild.
