Rainy day Joy!

Waking up early on a rainy Saturday morning with absolutely nothing to do is one of my favorite very things! No sunshine trying to convince me to get dressed and come out to play. No prior commitments to keep me watching the clock. Nothing to do but daydream and toy around the house like a little child! Yippeee!

The patience of a survivor

When you are passionate about something ~ the time just melts away. We all have talents and interests that we can loose ourselves in. The things that really make life worth living. Some of us figure out what makes us tick early in life ~ and for others it may take a lifetime. But if you never stop exploring those things you are naturally curious about ~ sooner or later ~ what you are will come to you. I think the trick is surviving childhood (and early adulthood) without loosing the child!

break from routine

Getting away from my routine really allowed me to put things into perspective. Sometimes it is just so easy to get caught up in what is right in front of you. Yet when you step away, get some fresh stimulation and see whats going on outside your door, those problems or issues that seemed so pressing can just ~ disappear!

❤ Harajuku

As it turns out ~ Harajuku (原宿 "meadow lodging") is an area near Tokyo (Harajuku Station).
Every Sunday, Japanese girls dressed-up in the likes of gothic lolitas, visual keis, and decoras spend their afternoons there frolicking in one of a kind fashions. It's like the fashion district of Tokyo. And now with the help of style sensation ~ Gwen Stefani and her new clothing line for Target ~ Harajuku mini, their "fatal attraction to cuteness" is sweeping the globe!

Eating in Asia

One of the best parts of this trip was sampling the diversity of flavors as we traveled from country to country! Starting in Singapore we sought out their famous "hawker" centers for local favorites (Chicken Rice), got our hands dirty eating Singapore Crab and had some amazing Biryani in Little India! Once we were aboard the cruise ship ~ the food took on a whole other dimension ~ there was so much of it, it was fantastic and we basically scheduled our days around our meals! Then in Bali we sampled some of the local delicacies along with hitting a fabulous French restaurant on New Years Eve. In Vietnam we sipped ice coffee's and my fiance learned how to make authentic Vietnamese spring rolls at a local cooking class! Hopefully he'll be making them at home soon. Here's a taste of the Orient!
