"Outside of a dog, books are man's best friend". It's hard to imagine just a few centuries back, only an elite minority were taught to read. The shift from a minority to the majority reading, has had a monumental effect on our world. Much like the growing effect of the majority now having access to the internet today.


So pull a book off the shelf and teach yourself something new today!! Just because you CAN!

Here is a clever idea from one of my SPECKtacular artist inspirations ~

Anouska Hempel's savvy dining room at The Hempel Hotel in London w/illuminated tables!

Her style has wowed and influenced me over the past twenty years! I was thrilled to come across this sophisticated space that is so unique and enticing and find out it was one of hers! Here is a fun quote on
her design philosophy: "It’s all or nothing with me, it’s either completely contemporary with very little,
or it’s a brilliantly mad and rococo and over the top. The in-between situation doesn’t really suit my personality – I can’t just do the middle ground, it doesn’t work."

Shopping day!

Once a week I get out shopping ~ whether I need to or not! Sometimes it is just to keep current with all the wonderful new items at my local design center, so I always have the latest and greatest to share with my clients.  All the finds below are available through Laguna Design Center (www.lagunadesigncenter.com)
