Frustration!!
Arghh! Have you ever shared your dreams with someone? Maybe someone close to you ~ that you would expect to be excited for you and tell you that they hope they all come true . . . but instead they say your dream is stupid or unrealistic or they say "And how are YOU expecting to make that happen?" Well I did, just last night and was really bummed to get that exact reaction. I guess next time I need to choose a little more wisely ~ as to who I share my dreams with.

Slow down ~ and enjoy the ride
Sometimes we get ourselves caught up over our heads. We race around, over commit and try to do more than is humanly possible. This always leads to a crash ~ either literally or metaphorically. Pay attention to what you are doing, when you are doing it. Be present ~ right now, not thinking about what you are going to do tonight or tomorrow. What are you doing right now? Whatever it is ~ just enjoy it.

Could have, Would have, and Should have . . .
. . . but Didn't! That is a saying my Dad used to say all the time! He'd say "Don't just talk about it, or make excuses why you haven't done it, or procrastinate some more ~ do it!" He would always encourage me to live my life with no regrets, do the things that you say you are going to do. And do them while you have the opportunity ~ don't wait until it is too late!

Maternal Instinct
Those of you who know me, know very well, I have no maternal instincts. I mean, kids are fine as long as they are someone else's and no-where to be seen. But after being immersed in The Song of Fire and Ice saga by George R R Martin all summer, with the fabulous Daenerys Targaryen character (who has three hatchling dragons of her own) I think I could warm up to the idea of being a dragon mother!
I fell for this little dragon hatchling puppet by Folkmanis at first sight! |
I call her Quasar! |

Charlie Chaplin is one of the most creative and influential personalities in the history of cinema. In 1916, the Mutual Film Corporation paid him $670,000 to produce and star in a dozen comedies. He was given near complete artistic control, and produced twelve films in eighteen-months, that still rank among the most influential comedy films in all cinema. Here is my little tribute to Charlie Chaplin and his multi-faceted, trailblazing genius! A true hero!
