There's no place like home
I'm heading East tomorrow to spend the week with my Mom back in Lockport, New York ~ where I grew up. It will be fun to spend the early holiday season with my Mom and help her decorate her tree, do a little Christmas shopping and play in the snow! There's no place like home ~ especially during the holidays!
This is my family home that I grew up in. My father designed and built this round house himself when I was just two (and he was only 28!) It still amazes me! |

The Mod Squad!
This union jack skirt caught my eye at Wasteland this week ~ I couldn't resist this iconic image and knew it would make for a sporting outfit! Paired with this snappy red blazer and my signature floppy hat! Well, Bob's your uncle {as they say}!

an L.A. story
The Ivy on Robertson has been one of my favorite lunch spots for well over a decade. When I first moved to LA and someone introduced me to this charming English garden restaurant ~ teaming with celebrities lunching in dark sunglasses ~ I was enchanted. But it wasn't until I tried their Cajun Soft Shell Crab that I became a devotee of this establishment! It's what I order every time ~ and when it's out of season ~ it is such a let down!! Do try it with a glass of champagne ~ xo!!

Stuff I used to think . . .
I think one of the most important things we can come to realize in life, is that just because you have believed something to be true for a lifetime, does not make it TRUE. The quest for truth requires us to challenge beliefs that may have been passed down from our family, preached to us by teachers in our youth, or things we have read. Our world is full of mis-information, and it is our job to be skeptical, ask questions, use common sense and look at the evidence. So many of the beliefs I wanted to believe were true, when put to the test of say science, or even a just bit more research were in fact exposed as fiction. Evolution continues!
